Alex Geanous is a consulting actuary with the Chicago office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2017.
Experience
Alex specializes in two key areas:
- Guiding commercial health plans through the complexities of the ACA Federal Risk Adjustment program
- Providing actuarial support to state Medicaid agencies
In the area of risk adjustment, Alex is recognized as one of Milliman’s leading experts in helping insurers implement, manage, and refine their EDGE server submissions. He also brings extensive experience in assessing insurers’ relative market risk and projecting risk adjustment transfer payments. On the Medicaid side, Alex focuses primarily on developing capitation rates for Medicaid managed care programs. His work includes evaluating the completeness and accuracy of managed care data, assessing programmatic changes, and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders—including health plans, state agencies, and providers.
