Chris Onken
Chris Onken is a principal with Milliman’s Financial Risk Management practice in Chicago. He has been with Milliman since April 2006.
Experience
Chris is predominantly involved in outsourcing for variable annuity hedging and financial reporting, helping international and domestic clients navigate the ever-changing market landscape. He works with clients to enhance model efficiency, expand modeling capabilities and ensure that an appropriate understanding of strategy and results is achieved throughout their organizations. He also consults on program reviews and mergers/acquisitions when assumptions, strategy, or product design need to be reassessed. Chris develops and adheres to leading practices of model governance within Financial Risk Management to assure valuation reliability.
Chris has worked with companies to develop and project managed risk strategies for use in variable annuity funds and as part of employee benefit investment strategies. He also has experience working with fixed index annuity hedging programs.
Chris began his career at a large life insurance company, where he worked in annuity modeling and distributor profitability.
